Sharon Pitt is director of learning technology service within the Distance Education and Learning Technology Applications division (DELTA) at North Carolina State University. From 1997-2001, Pitt served as director of instructional technology and distance learning at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. While there, she was a member of the General Education Council, the Intellectual Property Committee, and various task forces and committees on distance learning. She was also JMU's representative to the Electronic Campus of Virginia. Prior to 1997, she worked at Virginia Tech (1992-1997) in the Educational Technologies division. She received her BA and MArch degrees at Virginia Tech. Pitt has published and presented on the subjects of online learning, faculty development, and digital image databases.
