Marina Milner-Bolotin

Marina Milner-Bolotin was born in Kharkov, Ukraine and raised in a family of science/mathematics teachers and scientists. In 1991, she graduated with honors from Kharkov State University with an MS in theoretical physics. After immigrating to Israel in 1991, Milner-Bolotin continued her education in science teaching at the Weizmann Institute of Science and Bar-Illan University. In Israel, she taught physics and mathematics at high school and college levels. She also became involved in research on teacher education and the use of technology in science teaching.

In 1998 Milner-Bolotin came to Texas to continue her education and to teach at the University of Texas at Austin. During her three-year stay in Austin, she was an instructor of physical science. She also began working with the Center for Teaching Effectiveness at UT Austin and collaborated with Dr. Marilla D. Svinicki. In 2001, Milner-Bolotin received her PhD in Science Education an accepted a position at Rutgers University.
