Grover C. Furr III

Grover C. Furr III received a BA in English (with a minor in classical Greek) from McGill University in 1965. He received a PhD in comparative literature from Princeton University in 1979. There he specialized in the Medieval period with a major in English literature and minors in Russian and German literature.

Furr has taught at Montclair State University since 1970. His main academic concentrations are Medieval European literature, the Vietnam War and American culture, and critical theory. Since 1996, he has presided over a paperless classroom in which students submit all assignments by e-mail or as Web pages. All of Furr's course materials, including syllabi and schedules, have been Web-based since 1997.
