Darrin Hayes has worked in the non-profit, corporate, and higher education industries for the past seven years as a fundraiser, business and proposal writer, project manager, and technical writer. In 2000, Hayes started Darrin Hayes Writing & Design, an independent writing and information design company providing business writing, proposal development, and instructional design services. Current clients include the Jacksonville Business Journal, the University of North Florida, the Florida Institute of Education, American Language Review, and Daniel, Inc.

Hayes has recently consulted with faculty members from the University of North Florida's College of Education in the areas of Web design, multimedia, and the development of interactive learning objects featuring Macromedia Flash. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in instructional systems with a major in open and distance learning from Florida State University.

Hayes has served on several boards and associations, including the Jacksonville Adventist Academy and Jacksonville area chapters of the Society for Technical Communication, National Society of Fund Raising Executives, Toastmasters International, and Kiwanis International.
