Bob King
Instructional Technology and Distributed Education Consultant
UNCG School of Education and Teaching and Learning Center

Bob King considers himself something of a stealth academic, utilizing technology to fly beneath the radar. His background is in philosophy (BA), art (MFA), and educational foundations (PhD). He wrote his dissertation about the dynamics of electronic communication, using electronic communication tools. It consists mainly of the transcript of an extended email conversation between himself and his then writing partner. The dissertation process was immense fun and alerted King to the vast potential of electronic communication in educational settings.

King's current work (his official job title is instructional technology consultant) has enabled him to pursue an academic career much as he imagines it might have been done 50 or more years ago—back in the days when, as he imagines it anyway, academics parlayed or amplified natural curiosities into research, wrote when they had something to report, and otherwise carried on (and brought others along into) the process of having a life of the mind. In King's current employment he gets to teach, work with faculty on issues and skills related to teaching online, and work with a diverse and lively group of Instructional Technology colleagues at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. platform gamesadventure gameshidden objects gamescard gamespuzzle games
