Alton L. Taylor
Professor, Center for the Study of Higher Education
University of Virginia

Alton Taylor has over 30 years experience as a professor of higher education at the University of Virginia. He has experience as associate director for institutional analysis, assistant to the president, director of the summer session and professor in the Center for the Study of Higher Education. He teaches a graduate course on management and planning and has published widely on strategic planning. His prior experiences include teaching biology, chemistry, and general science in public schools and serving as supervisor of educational research in the Virginia State Department of Education. He received a BA degree from Pfeiffer College and MEd and EdD degrees from the University of Virginia.

Outside the University, Alton Taylor has served on the Albemarle County School Board.
